Band at Junior Division
A Week of Musical Immersion
With a year’s experience at school or in private lessons, campers can join our Band programme. We have two bands, conducted by Sharon Fitzsimmins and Ken Hazlett, each geared to levels of experience.
Every day campers receive:
- two hours of full band rehearsal with music staff hleping out
- one hour in a group lesson with a faculty specialist on their instrument
- one hour in an Elective (Chorus, Chamber Ensembles, Jazz Band, Music FUNdamentals, Reading for Strings. Camper in Jr. Jazz have jazz-related electives.)
Sharon and Ken have years of experience working with kids this age. They expect a lot and give a lot. Along with the Conductors and Faculty Specialists, there’s a team of Music Staff, many of whom want to be music teachers, working alongside the kids in the band.
