Brennan has had a love for music his whole life. Growing up, he played classical piano and drum set, then eventually found a love for the marching arts. Brennan actively played in the Red Deer Royals drumline from 2006-2009 and in the Calgary Stampede Showband from 2010-2012 before he found his passion in teaching drumline.
Brennan started as a drumline instructor with the Red Deer Royals Marching Showband from 2010-2014, after which he became the drumline coordinator in 2015 until his final season with Royals in 2016.
In August 2014 Brennan joined the Calgary Stampede Showband as a drumline tech. In the fall of 2015 he became the percussion coordinator and head drumline instructor, where he is honoured to remain today. In that time, Brennan travelled with the Stampede Showband to Europe, the United States, and across Canada where they received best international Drumline in 2015 and best overall Drumline in 2018 in the prestigious Drumline Battle in Indianapolis. In 2017 the Showband captured a gold medal with distinction at the World Music Contest in Kerkrade, Netherlands, and they earned their 6th World Championship title at the World Championship of Marching Showband’s Competition in 2019.
Outside the world of marching band, Brennan graduated at the top of his class in 2014 from the Recording Arts Canada audio engineering program in Toronto ON. He now works as an audio engineer at OCL Studios, one of Western Canada’s premier recording studios. Brennan is also an active musician and clinician. If he isn’t drumming, in the recording studio, or working with drumlines, you can find him playing sports such as hockey, baseball, or golf; taking pictures of wildlife; or spending time with friends and family.
