Heidi Wall

7

Heidi Wall is a dynamic concert pianist who performs concertos, solo recitals, and chamber music “with performances that reflect a depth of musicality, interpretation and originality”. She is featured regularly by the Kitchener Waterloo Chamber Music Society and both the Wilfrid Laurier University and University of Waterloo Noon Hour Series. As a concerto soloist, Wall has performed twice with the Kitchener Waterloo Community Orchestra under Daniel Warren and once with the Orchestra de Ciudad Guayana in Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela under Ruth Marin. Wall holds an Undergraduate Degree in Honours Piano Performance from Wilfrid Laurier University, where she studied with Anya Alexeyev. While there, she won the WLU Concerto Competition and was awarded the Alumni Gold Medal for Music. She also placed first in both chamber and solo categories in the Canadian Music Competition at this time. Currently, Wall is a candidate for an MA in Community Music from Wilfrid Laurier University and an MMus in Performance and Literature from Western University. Heidi recently placed first in Western University’s Maritsa Brookes Concerto Competition.

Heidi is the new pianist for the National Piano Trio, playing with Corey Gemmell and Wolf Tormann, who are both on factually at National Music Camp. Their objective as a trio is to promote the National Music Camp experience to Canada’s youth by creating extraordinary encounters with music in the piano trio genre. Aside from performing, Heidi Wall enjoys teaching piano in a private studio and coordinating the Kitchener-Waterloo Kiwanis Music Festival. Heidi Wall resides in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario. She looks forward to collaborating with NMC Faculty and Staff every year to bring extraordinary concerts to NMC campers.
