
Margot is a musician and educator based in London, Ontario. She began working at NMC in 2008 as music staff and is thrilled to take on the role of Assistant Music Director this season.
An experienced classroom teacher, ensemble director, and low brass clinician, Margot is responsible for hiring and coordinating our music staff. She also represents NMC at festivals, educators’ conferences, and concerts.
Margot currently teaches music and directs ensembles at Ingersoll District Collegiate Institute. Her students recently commissioned a work by award-winning Canadian composer Cait Nishimura, another NMC alum.
Margot appears as a tubist in two recordings with the Western University Wind Ensemble: Apparitions (2012) and Explorations (2016). She is a recipient of the George Bishop Scholarship (Ontario Music Educators’ Association) as well as a Fellowship to the Art of Wind Band Teaching Symposium (University of Minnesota). Margot has previously conducted ensembles with Arts For All Kids, El Sistema Aeolian, Western Young Winds, and Meeting Music – Making Music.
