Flutist Julie Ranti is the mother of two children, now young adults, who both think of National Music Camp as a highlight of their childhood summers. Julie also enjoyed years at music camp when she was growing up, and highly recommends it!
She was raised in Montreal in a musical family: her mother is a harpist, her father was principal trumpet of the Montreal Symphony, and her brother is a bassoonist in the Boston Symphony. Julie joined the Toronto Symphony Orchestra at the age of 24 in 1985, and still thinks she has one of the best jobs in the world. NMC continues to be a best-loved part of her summers (and nobody enjoys it more than the family dog, Sandra).
