Guitar
Guitar is one of the most popular instruments to learn. From beginner to advanced, this program develops the students playing and reading skills through group lessons, ensemble playing, music reading classes and individual support. Students bring their own guitar, or one may be rented through the camp.
Musical Theatre
This triple threat exciting program focuses on singing, dancing and acting technique. Led by professional faculty in each discipline. All levels of skill are welcome and will benefit from this exceptional experience. Original scripts combined with popular Broadway show tunes, plus creative choreography make up the show of the week. Family and friends are invited to enjoy the final performance and witness the incredible accomplishments of their children on concert day. This is the only program where we encourage campers to “break a leg”.
Jazz
One of the most interesting and unique genres of music is Jazz. The Senior Jazz program challenges campers of all levels to improve their chart reading skills, improvisation ability and to extend their knowledge of Jazz fundamentals. Each camper has the opportunity to play in a Big Band and/or Jazz workshop and combos. Vocal Jazz campers sing in a Jazz choir as well as with one of the Big Bands. This gives them a chance to improve their choral and improv techniques. Renowned players and teachers form the Jazz faculty inspire campers to achieve tremendous results. Campers must have at least one year of experience (school or private lessons) on their instrument. Keyboard players must have the equivalent of RCM grade 6. Campers in grade 7 and 8 have the unique opportunity to attend the Intermediate Division as part of the Senior Division of Jazz camp.
Jazz rentals: The Jazz mandatory rental program (JMRP) is for all Jazz keyboard, drums, guitar, bass and vocal campers. Campers pay a single rental fee for this service. Drum sets (less drumsticks), guitar, bass, keyboard amplifier and soundboards are supplied.
