ABOUT NMC

In 1965, Harold Nashman (Director of Camp Wahanowin) and Bob Head (High School music teacher), met and discovered they shared a passion for music and camping.  With only five faculty and fifty campers, National Music Camp was born.  Since then, Harold and Bob’s vision has exceeded even their expectations of NMC, with Harold’s son Bruce Nashman, having run the camp for more than 30 years and now with Elijah Geller and Tia Wintre as the new management of NMC. NMC has set the standard of excellence in music camping in Canada and will continue to do so under Tia and Elijah’s leadership.  Today National Music Camp continues to thrive with outstanding faculty, fabulous facilities, creative programs and the opportunity for young musicians to flourish. We are forever indebted to Bob and the Nashman family for making NMC a reality and the rich history that they have created that will pave NMC’s path into the future.
